我校成功举办电子论坛暨“特征模理论及其电磁工程应用研讨会”

2018717日,由电子科学与工程学院举办的“特征模理论及其电磁工程应用研讨会”在我校清水河校区科C216会议室举行。本次研讨会由电子科学与工程学院陈益凯教授主持。研讨会吸引了60余位研究生及10余位国际留学生前来学习交流。

特征模理论是当前天线与电波传播领域的热点课题之一。在研讨会第一环节,IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation期刊原Track Editor、瑞典隆德大学教授Buon Kiong Lau为我校师生带来了题为“Characteristic Modes for Dielectrics”的学术报告;北京航空航天大学副教授、洪堡学者吴琦作了“Characteristic Mode Analysis 2.0: From Metallic to More Realistic Objects”的学术报告;大连理工大学副教授、星海学者系列首批“星海青千”李慧作了特征模理论及其在天线设计中的应用的学术报告。

尽管纯金属电磁目标的特征模理论发展已经很完善,并在多类天线的设计中获得广泛应用,然而,介质体目标的特征模分析无论是在理论公式推导,还是在数值求解方面上颇具挑战。Buon Kiong Lau教授首先介绍了纯金属目标特征模理论的建立过程,并以比较学研究方法分析了介质体目标特征模难以准确求解的诱因。随后,Buon Kiong Lau教授探讨了他所带领团队针对该问题提出的多个有效技术手段,并基于该方法分享了若干介质谐振天线的模式分析数值算例与设计案例。

实际应用中的天线多为金属-介质复合结构,该类电磁辐射结构问题的特征模式求解更具挑战性。吴琦副教授分享了他在金属-介质混合电磁结构、电大金属电磁结构、纯介质电磁结构的宽带特征模式分析等方面的大量工作,并给出了多类天线设计实例。同时,吴老师还鼓励在场从事天线研究方面的研究生,应该多掌握计算电磁学中主流计算方法的算法原理,并多与他人交流,全面提升综合素质。

李慧副教授则风趣幽默地与大家分享了她在基于特征模理论的终端天线设计、远场综合、近场应用等方面等工作。李老师首先介绍了特征模式必须具备的两大特点:第一,模式本身不依赖于激励,由物体的结构、材料和边界条件决定。第二,由特征模分解得到的各模式的特征电流以及特征电场是正交的。基于以上两个重要特性,她给大家介绍了根据模式电流进行多频带终端天线馈电设计方法、方向图综合方法、以及她在可穿戴天线、生物体可植入天线等前沿方向的最新研究进展。最后,李老师探讨了特征模理论的重要挑战以及未来发展趋势,并在会后耐心地回答了同学们提出的多个问题。

在研讨会第二环节,与会专家就复杂电磁结构的特征模分析方法、数值求解方法、以及特征模理论在解决天线工程领域重大难题方面的潜力进行了深入探讨,为未来开展合作研究奠定了基础。

 

瑞典隆德大学 Buon Kiong Lau教授简介:

Dr. Buon Kiong (Vincent) Lau is a Professor with the Communications Group at the Department of Electrical and Information Technology.

Dr. Lau obtained the Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Western Australia in 1998. From 1998 to 2002, he did his Ph.D. at Curtin University of Technology, Australia, on the topic "Applications of Adaptive Antennas in 3G Mobile Communication Systems". From January 2003 to April 2004, he was a Guest Research Fellow at the Department of Signal Processing, Blekinge Institute of Technology. He was a Research Fellow (May 2004-May 2007) at the Department of Electroscience, Lund University, and later an Assistant Professor (June 2007-October 2010) and an Associate Professor (Nov 2010-Mar 2016) in the Department of Electrical and Information Technology (formerly Department of Electroscience) . Between July 2010 and December 2014, he served as the Director of Postgraduate Studies at the same department.

Dr. Lau was an Associate Editor (AE), Senior AE and Track Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation between 2010 and 2016. He received an award from the journal for exceptional performance as an Associate Editor during 2014-2015. He was a Guest Editor of the 2012 Special Issue on MIMO Technology and the Lead Guest Editor for the 2016 Special Issue on Theory and Applications of Characteristic Modes for the same journal. He was also the Lead Guest Editor of the 2013 Special Cluster on Terminal Antenna Systems for 4G and Beyond for the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. He is the chair of Subworking Group 1.1 on "Antenna System Aspects" within EU COST Action IC1004. From 2007 to 2011, he was a Co-chair of Subworking Group 2.2 on "Compact Antenna Systems for Terminals" (CAST) within EU COST Action 2100. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. From 2012-2015, he was the Regional Delegate of European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP) for Region 6 (Iceland, Norway, Sweden). He is also a member of the Education Committee in the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S), where he also the Coordinator of the annual AP-S Student Design Contest (3-year term between 2013-2015). In 2014, Dr. Lau initiated the international Special Interest Group on Theory of Characteristic Modes (SIG TCM) , which aims to promote new breakthroughs and foster coordination/collaboration in TCM research. Currently, over 75 research groups/companies are members of the SIG. Additionally, he is serving as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE AP-S.

Dr. Lau's primary research interests are in various aspects of multiple antenna systems, particularly the interplay between traditionally separate disciplines of antennas, propagation channels and signal processing.

北京航空航天大学 吴琦 副教授简介:

Qi Wu received the B.S. degree from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China, and the Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, both in Electrical Engineering, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. He joined the faculty of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Beihang University (BUAA), Beijing, China, in 2009, and now he is an Associate Professor.

During 2011 and 2012, he was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). During 2014 and 2016, he was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in the Institute of Electromagnetic Theory, Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH), Germany. He has authored over 30 journal papers, one book Planar monopole and dipole antennas: theory and ultrawideband applications (in Chinese), and holds five Chinese patents. His research interests include the ultrawideband antennas, computational electromagnetics, and related EMC topics.

Dr. Wu received the Young Scientist Award from the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) in 2011, the Nominee Award for National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation from Minister of Education in 2012, the Natural Science Award from Shanghai Bureau of Technology in 2013, the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in 2014, and the Young Scientist Award of Asian-pacific Symposium on EMC (APEMC 2016). His paper was selected as the Hot Papers of Microwave and Optical Technology Letters in 2007.

大连理工大学 李慧 副教授简介:

19866月生,博士,大连理工大学信息与通信工程学院副教授,大连理工大学星海学者系列首批“星海青千”,获辽宁省自然科学成果三等奖。20076月于天津大学获得光学工程学士学位,201210月于瑞典皇家工学院获得电气工程专业博士学位。20129-20154月于瑞典隆德大学从事博士后工作,合作导师为Buon Kiong Lau教授。担任IEEE APS Education Committee memberIEEE TAPTWCAWPL等期刊审稿人,EUCAPPIMRC等国际会议的TPC member。目前主要研究方向包括特征模理论、多天线系统、毫米波天线、可植入医疗天线、射频识别以及天线定位等。近五年来撰写学术专著两章,在国内外重要学术期刊和国际会议上发表论文四十余篇,获得国际发明专利2项。
